Risks
Cosmetic and reconstructive surgery, like all operations, involves an element of risk. Although the majority of our patients end up satisfied with their results, it’s important to remember that no surgery or surgeon is 100% risk-free.When complications arise, it’s often not a result of poor care or negligence. It’s dependent on the type of procedure and the severity of the problem being addressed. Revision surgery is sometimes required in 5-10% of all surgical patients and around 10-15% of all cosmetic surgery patients. The rate of revision varies between different cosmetic procedures, being as low as 5% in some and as much as 25% in others.
