What to expect
During your consultation we will discuss your areas of concern and the improvements/results you would like. We will also discuss and explain treatment options to address your specific concerns, and these may be surgical, non-surgical or combination of both since surgery isn’t always the only solution. If surgery is an appropriate solution, we will discuss timing to ascertain if it is best at this moment, or if it would be best to wait some months or years before going ahead with your decision.
During your consultation you will have ample opportunity to see and discuss before and after photos of patients who have had similar procedures, the surgical risks, potential complications and their management and the limitations of surgery. We will explain the procedure in a detailed manner to you and what to expect from surgery.
We encourage you to bring a trusted friend or family member to your consultation since it is often helpful to have someone ask further questions or to give you additional support. We encourage you to have a second consultation to enable you ask further questions or to recap details from the initial discussion, there is no additional fee for this.
Following on from your consultation we will send you a letter detailing what has been discussed and include further information about the procedures. We like you to take time to read through these and digest the information from the consultation; we will also request that the hospital send you a formal price for your procedure. Should you then decide to proceed with surgery please contact us on 01482 223553 to discuss your preferred timings.
We feel that it is important for all your questions to be answered so if at any time you have further questions or want to recap any details of the procedure, we are happy to help either face to face, by telephone, zoom or email, whichever works best for you.
You will have pre-assessment with the Cosmetic specialist nurse one week before your surgery. They will further explain your planned procedure including what to expect from the nursing care, during your admission and recovery phases. We would encourage you to use this opportunity to ask as many questions as you need.
On the day of surgery, we will take time to discuss the procedure once again with you, answer further questions you may have, undertake preoperative marking and planning and obtain clinical photographs before you proceed to theatre. You will also meet with the Anaesthetist who will explain the anaesthetic process and answer your questions.
Our system above aims to empower your decision-making process to ensure that the consent you give us is well informed and that you are as well prepared for surgery as you can possibly be.
Our results speak for themselves.
