Prior to surgery, we’ll customise your chosen implant type (shape, position and size) to suit your specific needs, and the decision will be reached with you during your consultation. Silicone implants are most commonly used, although polyurethane-coated implants are sometimes used depending on your body and requirements. Breast implants may be round or anatomically shaped, and come in different sizes and projections. They can either be placed underneath the breast tissue (sub-mammary) or underneath the muscle (sub-muscular). The approach (scar) will usually be located at the breast base (sub-mammary).
