Hospital Stay & Recovery
Following your initial consultation, you’ll be admitted to the ward on the day of surgery. We’ll explain the procedure once more, answer any other questions you may have, and obtain consent for surgery after taking pre-operative photographs and marking the surgical site.
Post-surgery, the nurses and doctors will review you to ensure you’re well and comfortable, and will administer you medications. On discharge, you’ll be given your medications and appointments with written instructions on how to contact us if necessary.
While the results are immediate, you can expect some leaking from the wounds in the first week, as well as bruising and swelling in the breasts for 2 - 6 weeks. Your breasts will be firmer and higher than the expected result - but by the fourth and sixth week - they’ll be in better shape and much softer. It can take 6 - 12 months for your breasts to settle into their new shape.
